Over the next three years, the state of Louisiana has committed millions of dollars in federal stimulus funding to incentivize building new energy efficient homes and improving the energy efficiency of existing residential and commercial buildings. In order to qualify for these incentives, building owners must have a detailed energy audit called a Home Energy Rating conducted by a Home Energy Rater certified by the Residential Energy Services Network.

In July of 2009 New Orleans based ADVEN, LLC, LA CleanTech's original training provider since June 2008, merged with ONTILITY,LLC based in Houston, TX.
Janet Hughes has worked with LA CleanTech since June 2008 to design and implement our Solar Training Program. Janet was co-founder of ADVEN, LLC and is now the Exec. Vice President of ONTILITY over seeing the Solar and Training Division.
ADVEN's highly successful 18 month old Solar Training program has recently garnered national attention. ADVEN (now ONTILITY) recently won an award from the US Department of Energy, Solar Energy Technologies program, in partnership with Houston Community College (HCC).
Announced on October 8, 2009, HCC was chosen as a Regional Resource and Training Provider for the South Central region as part of the The Solar Installer Instructor Training Network. The regional resource and training providers offer train-the-trainer workshops and are jointly responsible for developing curricula, career pathways, and regional labor market studies. ....read more
